Default 'Sports' seats not buckers for WRX?

I've got a problem with my pelvis that makes the bucket seats in my bugeye wagon hurt with any sort of distance driving (and I do a fair amount of work related driving). Rather than sell the car on I was thinkin about swapping the buckets for the 'sports' seats. I'm pretty sure when I test drove the bugeye when it first came out the car I drove didn't have buckets but had normal seats. Could someone confirm that you could choose either?

Richard.

The bugeye did have a type of "sport" seat with side airbags and high seat bolsters, these were not very popular. Most opted for the more traditional bucket. I have a pic I'll dig out.

Yes, if I remember correctly they did look pretty rough. However, it might be that I have to go down that route or sell the car.

When the bugeye originally arrived, you could only get it with sports seats. As others have said, they have side bolsters, side airbags and an adjustable head rest. More spacious than buckets and comfortable to use.

Could be worth looking around the dealers, they may like the thought of an upgrade and do a swap.

Interestingly all Wagons had the buckets but the saloons initially came with sport seats. There was a rumour at the time that IM thought the buckets would be less popular.

I've tried cushions on the past - but just doesn't work with the buckets.

Good idea on getting some others and keeping mine for resale time.

Does anyone have a photo of the sports seats?

Looking at them I don't think the fabric will be a match with the back seats (unless they come in difffent colours).

If you can get one in the same trim as the rest, you could leave the passenger one as a bucket! I don't think it would look out of place.

Default Swap?

My bruv-in-law has an 03 WRX Wagon, with the sports seats - and he wants the Bucket seats. (Wife has back problem, buckets offer more support).

You interested in a straight swap? If so send piccies, and I can do same.
Cheers

Sorry, same colour as in image above. Not sure if you can get them in other colours.
