Default What did Prodrive do..

.. in '98 when the PPP was fitted - a custom remap or new ecu or both? Also was sti suspension an option at that time?

Cheers!

IIRC

Prodrive I was not able to remap or new ECU till Late 2002. They fitted a daughter board into the ECU to get performance gains after late 2002 they remapped the ECU with EcuTek software. which will do any ecu on V5 MY98/99 onwards

I think originaly your dealer had to take it to Warwick for it to be fitted.

Prpodrive Suspension was an optonal extra. Bilstein IIRC

When I had mine done (an '00) I was under the impression that it was a remap rather than a daughter-board ... I thought it was the '99 and '00s that were programmable but I could be wrong.

The car did indeed have to go off to Prodrive to have the work done.

Mike Wood will be along to correct me soon but i'm fairly certain that PD was unable to Remap a ECU untill about November 2002.

Your right Version 5 and above in UK would be MY99/00

MY99 PPP consisted of

Uprated (replacement) ECU with a different map. Mine was labeled STi so I'm guessing it was a factory map.

Backbox - STi in origin with different tailpipe stamped Prodrive

De-cat centre section with resonator - stamped STi

Blue samco Y piece to replace the metal intercooler y piece fitted as standard - more flow - also labeled Prodrive

No suspension or cosmetic modifications otherwise

was STi suspension a factory option? what were the performance gains (is mine a MY98 if it's on an R plate?) just for curiosity?

also, how much extra power can I expect a GReddy Profec e-01 to add, running around 13psi?

thanks again..

Slight hijack but where can you get that samco y piece from? I take it you can buy it as part of a kit?

My old MY98 PPP had a replcaement ecu, again lableled STi. I was under the impression it wasn't a daughter board (like pre97 PPP and original MY01/02 PPP) but a replacement ecu from Sti with the prodrive map.

Suspension was an option from new, or could/can be bought seperately from dealers.

If you run the greddy @ 13 psi you will be losing power, PPP runs more boost than that!

Tony.

PS MY98 PPP is a backbox, ecu and ramair air filter... it's not the same as the MY99 version.

I got a kit for my Bugeye with the Y piece, dump valve hose and TB / IC hose from Rally Design. Cheapest I found.

thanks - what boost did the PPP setup have? was there ever a quoted output (other than 10-15% increase)?
