is the standard immobiliser on MY01/02 CAT 2 ? if it is then I can go for the alarm upgrade from 2->1

 

Blaster, its a cat 1. cat 2 is just an electronic immobiliser only, cat 1 is immobiliser an alarm as well, cat 3 is mechanical like Auto lock 2000 , Diskloc etc. so you dont need to upgrade on a my01

Mine is an import and only came delivered with standard immobiliser and no alarm. I need to fit a thatcham CAT 1 alarm and was told that I could get away with an upgrade as long as I had a CAT2 immobilser.
