Hello All
Would a UK my99/00 PPP ecu work in a euro spec turbo. I.E.; would the engine start?
Would there be any problems with immobiliser related stuff trying to fit an immobiliser enabled ecu into a non-immobiliser'ed car?
I think yes - I guess the engine would turn over and not fire
Anyone know if there's a way around this? Either to disable the function, or fool it somehow. What's the process used when fitting a UK car with the PPP ecu for example? Doesn't this need the immobiliser settings updated when the ecu is fitted?
And what about STi or P1 ecu's - is the same true? For both, or just the UK P1 ecu?
Many Thanks
Richard

I agree with Tony PPP should not be a problem. Most Euro Scooby dealers supply and fit the PPP kit.

Yep - PPP is fine, I bought one from Prodrive.
However, (I *think*) there are two types of PPP; one for use with immobiliser (ie; UK cars) and one without immobiliser (euro car - like mine).
However, the P1 ecu was only ever designed for the UK market - with immobiliser.
Mike Wood - can you perhaps help solve this?
Thanks
Richard

May be, but STi is more sofisticated engine with 8000rpm max, beter pistons,.... Rev. limiter in UK/Euro ECU cut at 7000rpm becouse higher rpm + vibrations can damage your engine.

Thanks Erik - that may well be...but I'll never be able to confirm/deny unless I get the thing to work
It should be noted that I'm not *entirely* stoopid - I have boost guage, knock and lamdalink's and will be taking things very easy until I know all is OK
I've got a PPP chip currently and am interested to see how much difference there is between the P1 and PPP maps when using the same mechanicals.
So....how do I do this without a select monitor?!
Cheers
Richard

i dont see why you should have a problem with a uk PPP chip, my car is a euro import and it goes in there forget the sti or p1 chips though, they are roughly the same (rev to 8k and have better engine/internals).

I just noticed and want to ask, don't the Swiss scoobies get an immobiliser? I bought mine from Holland and it has an immobiliser. The Greek scoobs have one too. The UK cars have one but also have an alarm. Dowser are you sure the Swiss cars don't have one or are you mixing it up with the UK alarms?
Hope this helps although I may be wrong with the specs on the Swiss cars.
Regards,
WREXY.

Uh - maybe I'm mixing it up.....I thought that the alarm/immobiliser are inseparable
Equally, I'm under the impression that you couldn't just put a PPP ecu into a UK car yourself, the dealer/Prodrive need to configure it with the immobiliser code (I *think* this is related to the key?).
But I just plugged the ecu in from the PPP I bought from Prodrive for my my00 and everything worked OK.
My heads buzzing now

You may be right about the inseparable bit. Anyone else know? I'm glad you got it going though.

Someone out there must know what I need to do?
Thanks
