Default Question for the Pro Mechanics

I'm thinking of fitting some adjustable dampers and the manual I downloaded says that the locknuts at the bottom of each suspension strut should be replaced when reinstalling the strut, but the dealer I spoke to wasn't sure whether they actually do this.

Can anyone advise what normal practice is?

Thanks

Lock nuts are normally only intended for one use, but as long as you use the correct torque settings you should be ok, but it also depends on the condition and age of the original nuts.

your supposed to replace them, because of simple wear on the old ones.for how much they would cost you its worth it for peace of mind.
