Wink RedX

Hi all,

What peolpe thought on RedX in their cars? I used it each tank refill on my TT for about 4 mouths and notice that the fuel econmany had gone from 300 to 330miles per tank.

Does it make a different between turbo and non turbo engines?

Thanks
Niall

You are joking right. Used to stick a bit in my first car, an old banger, to make it run slightly better. Would never put it in a modern car

Brings back memories of dropping a capfull into the carburettor of my 2.0 Crusader then standing back, rev and smoke and rev and smoke. Modern fuels have made it uneccesary, on all but bangers.

Oh the memories.

Sticking it down the spark plug holes, nice and generous.

Bit of rag in each to stop it gooing everywhere.

Turn the engine over on the starter.

Watch with delight as the rags shoot out and it goes everywhere.

Giggle with glee as the car makes a total smoke screen for the next half an hour (and the next few days) as it appears the bl**dy stuff has got into the exhaust system.

Didn't make it any quicker either...

Great for upper cylinder lubrication though

I got banned from a garage by popping a capful down the top of the webber carb on my escort and totally obscuring the entire forecourt with smoke
Well it was the garages fault for selling it to me.
