Red face Interesting ad for Donnelly's on the front page!

Not quite best where to post this, so I thought this would get the quickest response.

When I logged in without using my ID I can see an ad for Donnelly's that says some very nasty things! Not sure it's there when I log in with my user ID.

Bet get it fixed webby

Yeah I read that too - work pc - not logged in.

If true then fair enough. However the layout of the story and all the different fonts and lame pics did my head in. I only read half of it then got bored of trying to find the rest of the text.

Looks like it was done on purpose though, "look I code HTML like a 5 year old" type thing.

Still - odd to see an advert like that though.

It's not the fact that we can see an advert that's the problem, it's the fact that it is rather slanderous that's the issue.

I am assuming the site gets paid for hosting the link to the adverts, but will have no authority over which ads are dispalyed. Therefore the ad will randomly pop up or the site will loose revenue for not hosting the ads (why firefox and other ad blocking software wouldn't work). Seems to be an issue for Google ads to sort out.

Having had experience of donnelly's I can tell you that its very true.

They haven't a clue
They charge rip off prices for work.
They overprice their cars
And when something goes belly up, they don't really want to know.

In all fairness, i have experienced the wonderful Donnelly subaru and this advert needs to be shown to potential subaru customers.

They bring a bad name to subaru, end of!!

Hello Phil,

Thank you for reporting an ad that possibly violates one of our policies.
Please know that ads in our program are reviewed per our advertising
guidelines. While we make every effort to ensure that ads which may
violate our policies do not run prior to review, it's possible that some
ads run before our AdWords Specialists check them.

We assure you that we are working diligently to apply the same criteria to
all of our ads. We will investigate this matter and, if necessary, will
take the appropriate action.

Thank you for informing us of your concern, and we appreciate your
understanding.

Sincerely,

Swarnesh
The Google AdWords Team

Phil, you should be made Admin of SN too. Certainly seems like your only person with the time and inclination to actively do something about it LOL.

Think I'll bookmark the website before it gets vaped - some of it is quite amusing albeit inappropriate, LOL

I think it's this site that's using the picture of your car. Your car is up there regardless of which advert appears.

Phil

All you need to do is block the URL in the google adsense control panel. We've done this for donnellycars.com - just to stop the ad.. but haven't seen the ad for the dodgy site and have been trying to get the url. Could someone please tell us the url for the site so we can block it.

We have also been in contact with google about it. Phil, be careful, as google normally stipulate that any correspondence must be kept private. Might not be the case in this instance, but best to check.
