Default BIMTA Cert on UK registered car??

Is it possible to get the above on an already registered car thats been in the UK about a year? What info is required if so? Also if the car went through Japanese auction, will this cert give me any indication of the auction grade of the car when exported?
If no is there any way of finding that out?
Thanks,
James

It is but there is little point. If your car has been imported within the last five years then it wasnt stolen. BIMTA arent able to confirm auction grades, only the odometer reading with their cheaper (better value, why waste money on a 'certificate, when a mileage check confirms that the car was sold legitimately at auction?) 'mileage check' service.

Thanks, its a car I am thinking about viewing and has been in the UK about 8 months. Its a bit of a journey away but sounds good so was gona get a chack done first to avoid a wasted journey.
You rekon I should just get the mileage check so? Would the full cert not show if the car had an insurance claim or a write off etc??

The 'full' certificate reassures you that the car wasnt stolen. The cheaper mileage confirmation certifiicate provides that assurance too, because the odometer check comes from auction records. Its not to be confused with an HPI check and it cant provide details of auction grade or repair history. I have little time for BIMTA but in some circumstances their mileage check can provide some piece of mind (or a nasty surprise).
