STi ver.1 Vs WRX ver.1
I never knew how good the ver.1 sti's were out of the factory.
I have a ver.1 WRX wagon, TD05 at 1.1bar, 440cc injectors, FMIC, sports cat and stainless exhaust with an ESL map.
My brother has just bought a sti ver.1 wagon with nothing but a stainless exhaust and decat with panel filter. Boosts to 0.9bar.
We just went for a little burn off from 20mph in second on the dual carriageway and the sti actually had 1.5car lengths at about 80-90mph.
My WRX must be pushing about 280+BHP so to think his sti has slightly more than that from the factory is remarkable. Hopefully he'll do the sensible thing and get it into bob rawle for a remap and it will be a real animal. Never knew quite how good these sti's were!
