Totally agree - a big thanks to Stef for organising and to all the Prodrive people and instructors. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and a big hi to all the Scoobynet guys I met.

One downer, picked up a puncture about a mile from home, would you believe - a king size fence staple, really close to the sidewall. I can just hear the tyre fitter now "sorry mate, can't repair that"

Still, it's only money!

Still buzzing. Great organization. Great people. Great venue.

For those thinking about doing it. DO IT !!!!

Went something like..............

mini convoy from Cherwell arrives to see 3 dressed up Jap spec STi7s parked up outside reception and WRC car parked INSIDE reception.

More bacon butties than we could dispose of
Briefing etc

The best bit...rotations of,

SkidCar and wet surface practice
Tarmac stage in STi7
Quick blast on the perimeter circuit

Lunch (complete with tablecloth and metal cutlery !!)

Off road course in SWB Landies
Autotest, which was except my navigator gave me wrong pacenotes

Debrief and prizes

Retire to pub to brag, boast, BS about how we all did

Mega thanx to Pete, John, Instuctors + all the other Prodrive people
Big up to Stef (as usual) for the time and effort you put in buddy.

Just off now to check down the back of the sofa for £25K in loose change.

Just DO IT

Just awesome fun & a great, professional & enthusiastic bunch of instructors - thanks guys & gals

Still on a mega-high but completely knackered - who cares, it was worth it

One of the primary aims of this day was driver tuition & with the excellent choice of location and facilities, together with the instructors mentioned above, meant that I came away having learnt things & hopefully improved my driving - a sucessful day

I've also come away tempted to get an STi VII (if only ) & wondering how much PD would charge me for fitting a full rollcage such as the lovely ones they had had fitted

Anyhow, should the opportunity arrise again, don't waver -

Just DO IT

All, Great day out, STI7 rally stage was great and got a nice
bottle of Moet to show for it as well

Would recommmend this yo anybody as just one of the events was
worth the money but four!!!!

Instructors where great and much thanks goes to Mike from PD for
driving me round the track in the very nice PD UK300. I also know
what the grab handles in the back are for now, chears plantie
great fun.

Saving up for a P1 now after having a go on the skid pan. Be a
close call though between that and an STI7

Will post pictures soon

Great day out, chears Stef.

What a BLINDER of a day!!!!!!

One of the best days Ive had in ages! so much learnt about car control and the fun factor is

Absolute highlight of the day for me was having Mika Hakinen taking me round in the STI7 completely cross armed and at full pelt round the tarmac rally stage

Land Rover off roading is awesome even when you nearly get thrown out from the bumps and jumps

A massive thanks to Stef, SIDC and the Prodrive boys who know how to make you feel welcome! So many frolics and laughter throughout the day with a brilliant group of enthusiasts.

The STI7 is a must have car for those who are dear to Scoobies, so much torque and grip of an elephant. Many thanks again to Stef for the use of his car and the Prodrive lads for their P1

Once again a Top Top Day!

Harj

Stephen Emery,

I don't appreciate being called a tosser for having to look after my aged and ill father this Saturday, especially when I cancelled (or tried to), 48 hours in advance. Sometimes people have their reasons so don't be so quick to make judgements!

Have to agree with the others - what a day
I think my next car will be an STI, and a land rover to abuse - how mad were those guys ??????

Learnt some good stuff on the skid facilities and control on the tarmac stage.
Definately recommended to everyone.

Sounds like everyone had a great day!

shame about the people who couldn't turn up (I'm sure some at least had very good reasons).

All the best

If you want to get on one, you need to speak to Stef, i think from what he was saying the next one is oversubscribed already, but if as many people drop out next time at short notice as did this time you stand a fair chance of getting in (i do know a couple of them had good excuses but the rest tsk tsk )

What an absolutely fantastic day, Prodrive need to get that STi 7 on the road as is ! fantastic car to drive. Even on competition tyres that were not intended as tarmac tyres (i guess so we dont have soooo much grip we make a very costly mistake in human terms as well as damage to the car)

I have some piccies of the day, the digital ones look cant wait to see the film ones !!!!!

Cant say much more than has been said already, the only problems i had were on the autotest and track where my dinky little door mirrors and the roll cage caused some problems with reversing and seeing who was behind (Sorry again Stef !!!!)

Thanks to all involved for organising and making the day possible

Question

Did anyone get the exact spec of the STIs? Just wondering how different they are to the "standard" STIs. There was obviously a brake upgrade and I overheard talk that the suspension had been tweaked as well.

P.S. just noticed this thread, my comments are in:

All three were slightly different in spec.... one was almost standard, one had a racing CAT and the other had been decatted. All had forest stage tyres different suspension and modded brakes! Full roll cage (for back too) and four harnesses!!!

Power wise Car 1 was just over 300bhp, Car 2 just under 300bhp and car 3 320ish bhp!

Plantie, got some great photos of you on the autostage and also as a passenger on the rally stage.

Top motor, makes a great noise with the odd flame out the back

Now convincing myself to go again and also but a new STI7 Don't think it's going to be that hard though

Question

I understood Car 1 was the nearest to the car to be released in the UK with the suspension set up, but it did have a 'PPP' development system on it - I need to order one
