Default Newbie Alert (Sorry in advance)

Hi all,

I am new to Subarus but have just placed a deposit on a 54 plate WRX STI PPP. Although it is a 54 plate I think it is one of the newer changed cars. Whilst looking for one to buy I noticed one of the noticable differences on the STI's were the Climate Control buttons, the newer ones had dials that stuck out and the older ones had them recessed in.

I am buying the one with the buttons that stick out. Can anyone tell me what car I have bought as I have been reading on here terms like Spec C, RA etc? and what other enhancements were made to the car at the time of this change?

Thanks, great forum by the way

Welcome

Right, first of all we have UK/euro spec cars and JDM (japanese domestic market cars).
Your PPP is a UK/Euro market car, the Spec C, RA is a jap market car.
Lots of differences, mainly mechanical, more advanced (the jap market cars) from 2003 when they brought out the twin scroll turbo cars (better power delivery, more torque, no burble, better drivers car) and the UK kept the burble.
2005 saw a change in the uk car with the newer interior, different geometry (same as the spec c, also the JDM cars had this change) no real mechanical change except the addition of the A-DCCD which is a drivers controlled centre differential, means you can basically play with the power to the wheels, the A means auto, just switch it on or off
Those are some of the bigger differences.

Tony

yes, is a blue one. I am very impressed. What more can I say it is the car I have been trying to find for years. It gets more attention on the motorways than i thought it would.
