Test Drive a subaru and get a free flight to NY
Just recieved a promotion from Subaru that offers a free flight to New Yoork if you have a test drive. You just have to pay taxes etc was wondering if anyone knew how much the tickets really end up costing? as I wouldn't mind going back to NY its a great place to visit

I've just done it, took a test drive in a new WRX on Saturday at Webbers in Basingstoke - car a bit of a let down after my MY99 classic - I was actually happy to get in mine after the drive - Subaru seem to have drilled a lot of the fun out of the new cars - too soft and civilised for my taste. As for the promotion, you only pay taxes and charges - so with a stamp from the dealer on the card I've sent it off. I'll keep you posted when Subaru get back to me - but the offer seems genuine.

Just got the flight booking form back from Subaru. Genuine offer - the only conditions are it has to be before 14 December this year, it's not valid 15 July - 5 Sep and not valid during US & UK public holidays. You pay taxes and charges but it's a return flight. Stay in New York must include a Saturday night, maximum six nights, you pick three preferred outbound and return dates in order of preference and first and second choice airports: Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow & Belfast. So for only taxes and charges I've just bagged a free flight to NY - i'm treating myself to a long weekend in September.

Haven't sent the order form back yet.
Looked on Virgin and BA tonight, taxes etc. may come to around £150, and by the looks of things the extra tickets (up to 3) at £249 + taxes etc. might be more than you would pay to Virgin and BA.
Overall though there is a definite saving through this deal and I get to go to New York which is something I have wanted to do for years

Subaru New York flights... update
Just got the dates confirmed for this promotion and have paid the taxes, which came to £152.90. So a really good promotion - full price for these tickets, on American Airlines, is £375.90. I got my first choice of flights, going in september, from my chosen airport, Heathrow. So I'm pretty chuffed - and they've just extended the promotion - worthwhile test driving a new car for a free flight, I reckon.
