Default DO MUDFLAPS equal STONECHIPS??

Just fitted some Prodrive flaps, and have heard that they cause more stonechips along the doors than not having any fitted! I bought them to prevent this, anyone notice a difference?

Never heard that one. Fitted them to my last one practically straight after picking her up, definitely no chips along the sides. Fitted them to this one before pick up and still no chips along the sides.

Less can be said for the front though!!!

Maybe the edges of the mudgurads 'refract' the stones around their edges, causing their trajactory to bend so that they hit the sides of the car...

Thinking about it, what if you have them too close to the ground and when they do "ground" they flick stones up backwards so from the front all up your front doors and fro mthe back..all up your bumper.

Tis a though ??
