Default Help- fellow scooby owners

hi
can anyone help me?
i have a T reg impreza 2.0 turbo. last night the car started and then cut out. i got some mechanics to look at it but no avail. they reckon that the immboliser fuel cut off kicked in when the car was started. i have a sigma alarm/ immobiliser on it.
i was so upset.
they are trying to locate where the immobiliser is joined onto the fuel lead, any ideas?
(well i think thats what they are doing- i don't really know much about cars!!!)

thanks in advance for any advice

becs xx

Mornin!

What a nightmare! Now, I may be wrong and I'm sure there are others on here with more knowledge about this than me, but if you have a look in the alarm book (shold be with the log book and user manual?) I'm suer you can pull up the fault history of the alarm (I think it shows as a series of alarm light flashes). This may give you some indiication as to where the problem lies.

If you haven't got the book, if you do some devious searching on line you will find the installers guide with all the instructions in it. If you can't find it, PM me and I can fax you a copy!

Failing all that, perhaps try a manual override using the keypad (if you have that type of alarm - again if you don't have the code, there are ways of resetting the keypad!)

Hope this helps!

It sounds like a problem i had. Car would start rev once then die. All i did was remove the key from the ignition, reset the immobiliser and away we went. It just seemed like the immobiliser got a bit stuck. I read up a few bits on ye old net and apparantly the sigma is prone quite badly to interference from all sorts of sources so maybe something was 'putting it off'. Maybe something similar happening here?

hi
thanks for the advice
i tried to reset the immobiliser but unfortunately it still doesn't start. i think i may need to completely reset with the code. unfortunately, i don't have the code. its so annoying.
i hope it is the immobiliser

A complete loom? Give over, lass, they've seen you coming.

Get it to a decent Sigma dealer.

Just had an auto technician come out, hes a mate. apparently, it's burnt it out some of the loom, but there are so many wires that look the same he can't trace the exact one.
i don't know anything really about cars, you recko i should take it to sigma??

she's up and running again- it seems as though my first auto- technican didn't know his a**e from his elbow and i got a second opinion. Apparently, i have to immobiliser one on enigne/ignition? somewhere there and another on the fuel. the fuel one decided to give up the ghost. but nows she back and just taken her out for a spin... i love my scooby!!!!
