Anyone noticed the sky high CO2 figure for the STi? (290). Anyone care to do the sums on what that would cost you as a company car in the 40% tax bracket?

Thought the standard MY01 was bad enough....

Here are the sums, I think, if anyone thinks I'm wrong please correct me.

Type UK STI - £25,995 at 35% tax banding means you pay 40% income tax on an adddition £9098.25, therefore your looking at a tax bill of £3639.30 for the year. For the Prodrive STI its £3849.30 for the year.

You will pay tax on 35% of list price so assuming a purchase price of £26000.00 x 35% = £9,100.00 If you have a scoob you must be on 40% tax so £3,640.00

Ten you have Fuel benefit which will be £3,620.00 which will also be taxed = £1,448.00

Total Cost £5,088.00

I sold mine for this very reason.

Cheers

Andy (now driving Vectra diesel estate - boring but much cheaper)
