Impreza STi info
Hi all
Looking for a bit of guidance please, i'm new to the prospect of owning an impreza, but at the minute tops my list with maybe an evo(SORRY).
The advice i'm after may be simple but i'm not sure so here goes:
How do i know if its an import, will it say, should i avoid them or are they better.
Which version is better, i have around 12.5k in the budget.
I would like to keep good road manners etc so what power level still keeps this but makes the car that little bit extra
Lastly, insurance, any good companies out there i could use.
I know i'm asking alot bit any help would be massively appreciated my knowledge on these cars is limited to say the least.
Mant thanks

Such a lot of Q'
First of all most answers will depend on your use of the Car and what you want from it
The EVO is an easier car to drive, probably the better handling and can be tuned to higher performance generally a bit more expensive to run. but the Import Imprezas are a much closer match
Most of my replies are VERY generalised as your a newbie, so sorry to the Experts here
First choice Classic or Newage, is it going to be a weekend Toy, your only car want to track it? I'd say if your only car for work rest and play look at a Newage STi JDM(best is Spec C) or STi UK with PPP or Have a weekend Toy spend less and get a Classic special editions Type R or Type RA (Confused yet) as a Toy and the rest on a Desiel runaround
There are "Classic" 1995-2000 and "Newage" 2001-2007 Scoob which come in two main guises WRX and STi (there are loads more but keeping it easy) and of course UK/EU and Import (JDM)
Classic's are lighter and closer to the real thing. Newage are Heavier and more comfortable but only in 4door or wagon.
Generally STi's are more powerful, better handling better brakes and better trim than WRX's
Imports (JDM's) have better spec's than UK/EU cars but UK cars are all about warranty
APlan and adrian Flux but look in insurance section (hope your over 25
IMHO

Here's the obvious stuff cos' your newish.
.
How do i know if its an import, will it say, should i avoid them or are they better. Rear wash wipe, tinted rear windows, DCCD and folding mirrors.
Which version is better, i have around 12.5k in the budget. STi's are normally the one but some specs are quite sort after ie Spec C's and RA's (stripped out STi's). Do a search on here for the full SP.
I would like to keep good road manners etc so what power level still keeps this but makes the car that little bit extra. JDM Cars (Japanese) are more powerful than UK cars and as such will effect your next question.
Lastly, insurance, any good companies out there i could use. Trawl about on here and do a search.
I know i'm asking alot bit any help would be massively appreciated my knowledge on these cars is limited to say the least. Try here Litchfield Imports
