To break or not to break
Decided to sell my car recently, original thread here

But have had a change of heart - I can't bear to let all the parts go on the car and almost completely lose the value of them. I'm not a mechanic so I can't take things off and replace back to standard easily, but I can probably at least bolt off the things that are worth something. I don't want to pay someone to do this work as it will eat into the value.
So I figured why not break it? It's a completely clean MY99, 50k miles with a new short engine 12k miles ago. I can easily remove the most valuable parts (wheels, AP 6 pots, ASTs, 20g etc) and sell the rest as I go including the engine, gearbox and shell.
How much am I likely to get for the long engine/gearbox? Is the shell worth very much? Is this a barmy idea?
