Occassionally wear my SWRT baseball cap, but never have the stereo on too loud - given that I'm normally listening to the radio there is nothing cool about having double glazing adverts blaring out!

I've known Phil for about 5 years and he came to one of the first ever SIDC meets.
Top bloke and seriously good driver. Phil holds a Nurburgring Instructor license

Phil is a TOP bloke, and a damn good driver.
His car is way too stiff for my personal taste, but he can certainly punt the thing along (completely safely).
He is one of the few people (if not the only person) I have ever felt completely safe sitting next to (which is saying something considering what a crap passenger I am!! )
He instructs motorbike riders round the ring, and sometimes cars also I think.
All the best

I don't know the guy but I've seen his car around (R1NGA) and on reading a list of people who've just moved into the same floor as me at work, I think he's about 50 ft away. I'll have to introduce myself.

When I first bought my scoob and started modding it, one of my friends, who is a good friend of Phil, said I should have a word with him coz he knows a bit about scoobs and drives round the ring lots. Needless to say, I didn't call him. I've only just put 2+2 together because of the afore mentioned number plate.

Phil has made quite a few posts to the IWOC list reagarding his encounters at the 'Ring the best of which can be seen at
http://www.iwoc.co.uk/ring.html
My favourite is the "Getting wasted by Schuey at the Ring..." post about 2/3 down.

I've met Phil several times at SIDC/IWOC meets and during trips to the 'Ring. He's a top chap, and his car is a beast!
There are so many amusing tales that I could relate to people about his trips to the ring, the best I've witnessed was the sight of a hard charging 'R1NGA' looming large in my rear view mirror lights ablaze...I let him pass being followed by two very raggedly driven 911's in hot pursuit...Phil later told me that he had been minding his own business when he went passed both of them (apparanently they were having their own private tussle) and they had taken offence...he soon left them way behind
It seems that a British registerd, Japanese saloon car with the number plate reading 'R1NGA' which can out handle, out drive, out brake and out perform in every way the 'Ring locals does seem to put a few backs up
Shame
