Headlamp Removal
Tough Job?
Easy Job?
Any links as to how to do?
Classic MY00 offside Headlamp.
Also, can you split the glass away from the reflector?

No, it's an easy job to remove the headlight - should take about 10 minutes. Or, go to a main dealer, I'm sure they know how and it'll only cost 1/2 hours labour @ £40 or so.

Get the feeling people are ignoring you!?
Easy job.
I took morrettes of mine and replaced with Ordinary headlamps.
You shouldnt need instructions, 2 bolts going into the grill, 2 behind the sidelights (you need to remove them to get to these) job done as far as I can remember.
Think its the same for yours, mine is a 98 Type R V4.

Remove grille, (two clips to be depressed at top, pull out slightly, then up).
Remove sidelight, (undo screw at top outer edge of headlight, then pull sidelight HARD towards you, it's on a ball and socket joint).
You should now see four 10mm (IIRC) bolts, two at the inner edge, and two in the sidelight recess. Undo these. Grip lighting connector behind headlight and squeeze between thumb and forefinger, pulling it off.
Now work headlight out of mounting hole.
Glass CAN NOT be seperated from reflector, so if it's damaged, it's a trip to a breakers, e-Bay or a dealer. (I have, in the past, repaired small holes with epoxy resin.)
Grease sidelight ball and socket before replacing it.
Before replacing grille, remove both clips, (screws hold them from the back) and use a small screwdriver to prise the clips back up, or it won't hold in place when you refit it.

to remove glass remove metal clips then shove headlight in oven and heat for a while. glue will soften then u should be able to remove glass without using hardly any force at all. watch out as glue goes stringy as u pull apart and u dont want it dripping on reflector. ie pull housing up with glass face down.

I successfully split and rejoined a headlight, the angle adjuster had come apart in side, fixing was much cheaper than a new one! I used a heat gun on a low heat to gently heat the plastic. It's sealed with mastic type stuff, which I reformed a little before pressing the 2 halves back together.
