Prices to pay for Imprezas
#1
What would say a reasonable price would be for a UK Impreza Turbo (years 1997/98, say 40,000 miles etc) either from a Subaru dealer or a general car dealer?
Just a ball-park figure - I know it varies so much.

I tend to find there is a wide variation in price of Impreza's, but www.parkers.co.uk is a good place for a sanity check!

I would not want to be paying more than £10k for that one
To put into perspective sti5's - some quite loaded up with extra's can be had for £13-£14k
A uk 99 with average mileage about £11-12k
A uk 98 with average mileage about £10k
A uk 97 with average mileage about £9k
So about £1k more at dealers
That said I would not pay those prices for a uk
Given that say a 99uk could have been purchased from Holland at the time for about £16k all in with air con (I know all this as I looked at this option when I got my sti5 - ordered in May 99
Incidentally early sti5, late sti 4 plates could be had for £19k on the fantastic exhange rate, though some companies where selling at a huge margin i.e £33k!!
So taking a 99UK - you'd really expect this with average mileage to be:
£16k - say 40% for depreciation say £10k!!!
So a 97/98 should be had for much less..
Only my opinion I dont follow prices too much, though I know that some people are asking way too much for their cars, especially RB5's and Terzo's!

I have my scooby for sale.. MY99 with leather, Induction, BK wheels, A1 through out, 10 disc, FSSH etc etc..
I have it up for 12.5.. Parks states 10.6K but does not take into account about 5Ks worth of extras.. So far i have had two offers 11K and 11.4K.. Unhappy with both.. Do u think i should hold or take?? I do think my car is one of the finest examples i have ever seen..

I've always found the prices stated in Parkers to be guesswork (like What Car) - they bear little resemblance to the "official" guides. Prices for 1997/98 registered models are just over 11 to 13 and a bit - forecourt prices and average mileage, no extras. Five-doors very slightly less.
