Best place for fog lamp covers for MY99
#1
I want to get some fog lamp covers (given that its been pretty foggy lately!), where's the place for best prices? I've noticed that prices fluctuate greatly (seen 'em between 65-135!!).
And, importantly, do these places send 'em out colour-coded? I suppose I can give them the colour code of my car and then they can send out the appropriate ones (white covers would look pretty silly on a dark blue car!)
Any help would be great...Cheers!

Best place is to for them is over the fog lamps. Ha ha ha ha!
I bought mine from Revolution, but you then have to have them painted, then fitting is tricky. Therefore, I would be tempted to get some from the main dealer or maybe DRMotorsport (Davd has the facility to paint them for you)

DRM do them already painted, but you normally need a bracket to attach them to the car. I'd phone and ask David if that's part of the deal or if he supplies them seperately.

I looked at David's site and it says:
"The covers will only fit the later 1999 - 2000 bumpers. Made from ABS plastic, they simply clip into place over the original fog lamps. However they will not fit over PIAA or Cibie Driving lamps. Supplied as a pair, painting is available at £15.00, we can also supply "STi" graphics in silver or anthracite"
It says that they clip on to the existing fog lamps - no mention of brackets or am I missing something?

Nope your quite right. If you have the std fogs, then they fit straight on. It's only if you have PIAA or Cibies that you need the bracket.
You'll notice that there's a few screw holes on the covers, so you need to attach them when using the PIAA's or Cibies.

Might sound silly, but it they just clip on to the existing lamps, aren't they prone to being easily stolen? This is assuming that they slide off quite easily...

Oh yes, very much so. But even the PIAA/Cibies covers are prone to a bit of theaving as well.
I usually leave mine off toi be honest, but I need some clear protectors ASAP (dropping hints for Xmas) as I've been lucky so far.

I've ordered a set from Grade A Subaru for £20 - not original but you can't tell once sprayed and fitted! Haven't got the No at hand but you'll probably find them on the net easily enough.
