This is shamelessly stolen from a magazine but anyhow:-
UK Subaru dealers anxious to hit quotas are offering new Impreza WRXs for upto £2000 less than the official list price. The deals were uncovered by pricing experts Car PRice Check.
But many of the official Subaru dealers concerned preferred not to be identified for fear of reprisals from the UK impoerter. The best can offer a WRX for £19,412 - a saving of £2,083 from list. And since most of these deals relate to cars currently held in stock, waiting times are often non-existent.
Not satisfied with two grand saving? Try the £4354 discount from internet retailer Iceberg. The firm is quoting a price of just £17,141 for a four door WRX, although this is offset by a 24-week wait for delivery.
Something to give some food for thought...

I don't think there's any secret about this. I made a casual internet enquiry about the new WRX and the local dealer rang me next day and asked if I wanted a test drive. They told me the lead time was 6-8 weeks which seemed reasonable. However, when we went along for a spin in one we were told that the time was cut to 2-3 weeks and they were offering discounts and very cheap finance. We saved about £1500 on the list price, their only stipulation being that we couldn't have the bucket seats, but I wasn't really bothered about that. All colours were available so, of course, we went for WR Blue Mica. Within a week of ordering it the car was in their compound going through the PDI, so they must have a stockpile of them somewhere.
Incidentally, we weren't going to buy a new car until next year, but after a first-ever drive in a scooby we signed up straight away!

Yeh - got my WRX wagon in two weeks from order to delivery, including PPP + morettes + OZs, a hefty discount on the list price of both the car and the extras, and a sensible PX on my MY99.

Pete,
Did you mean the spec of my old car: bog standard MY99 4dr DBM - no mods/extras, 25K miles (immaculate, FSH etc of course).
Got £12,250 PX, plus £2K+ of discounts.
The dealer that supplied the car when new offered me £13,250 PX but no discounts.

Subaru Holland is now going to do an "LE" special (Limited Edition) which includes the PPP and Morettes for the price of a basic WRX (69K Guilders) ... will probably be strictly LHD though (I think).
