Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to remove the glass from an electric wing mirror on a 93WRX?
Also, are all scoob mirrors electric/ the same?
Reason I ask is that I am looking at producing the shell in carbon fibre as an upgrade.
Thanks, Rob.

Rob,
asked the same question myself a few weeks back, got no real answer to it. I did have a bit of a look myself and what I could see is that the housing for the movment system is screwed into the casing of the mirror, I could get to one of the 3 or 4 screws but not the other, and did not want to put too much excessive force on it, if it's a spare and you don't want the glass then you could gently smash the glass and remove it that way.
As for are they different, yup, think the facelifted car had slightly different mirror design to the early cars. plus, and i don't know if this makes a difference but some of the jap imports have retractable mirrors (mine does) whereas uk spec does not, all seem to be electrical adjustable though. from looking at my car (94 WRX Wagon) which currently has a non retactable mirror and a restracable one the casing looks the same.

Hi there i had to do mine a few weeks ago due to very slippery road and a ditch,i have a my98 and to remove the mirror you have to pull off the plastic cover on the inside of the door at the back of the mirror and that lets you get at the 3 screws which hold the mirror to the door, also you have to lossen the door trim and if you are lucky you get your hand down the inside to undo the electric connections.
