Good evening,
As the title suggests i have just had a minor accident, well, the scooby has. My car was parked outside my house and the car parked next to it (a mate) reversed out of the space and his front drivers side corner has met my drivers door.
From the looks of the damage its just the drivers door that has been stoved in. The car before the incident can be found over here The damage appears to be just on the drivers door, not the mirror etc. The stickers are obviously scratched a little and the dent is most of the length of the door and a couple of inches deep.
I am after opinions on how much it will cost to get it repaired, how long it will take, etc etc
I also would like some advice regarding insurance. Both myself and the guy who hit my car are fully comp insured but as we are both only 22 i would really rather avoid insurance companies due to the massive rise in both our premiums come renewal day. Would it be worth my while getting the repairs done outside of insurance or not?
I cant post pictures just yet but if they are needed then let me know
If there is any more info you need to help give a better reply then i'll help if i can, otherwise thanks for your time
Chris

as you are both 22 insurance excess will probably be quite high,so go to a decent independant bodyshop and get a quote it might work out to be about the same as excess to repair, also your mate needs to bear in mind the jump in premium next renewal if a claim is made
if it is only damage to door i would of thought a week maximum to repair
