TESCO SUPER - SAFE?
I’ve had a look on the first few pages, but couldn’t find anything relevant, anyway…
Have there been any reports of problems with Tesco Super Unleaded, or is it just the normal stuff that has problems?
I haven’t driven the scoob in a week or so, and I think its pretty full of the stuff – should I refuel ever time I drive it?

UM,
It's cheaper for a reason, even the SUI stuff.
I wouldn't risk a Turbo charged car with SM crap.
Phone all the major car helplines they will all tell you the same thing.
In the short term I'm sure it's fine.
Up to you but I've heard countless sob stories about cheaper fuel and cat problems etc... but they tend to happen with prologed use of SU SM fuel.
I you want to save money, then maybe SM fuel is your only option.

All fuel sold in Britain meets certain standards or it can't be sold. Tesco 99 comes from a different source. The reason it's cheaper is because it's to bring customers in to the supermarket. It's naive to think there's any other reason. Or to put it another way, just because supermarket unleaded may be just about good enough to pass normal quality standards, what makes you think that other petrol stations give a **** about you or I or the fuel we put in our tank? Especially when you've got petrol snobs who will help keep them in business by paying more for what they think is so much better petrol?

Well i've run Tescos' 99 ron since it came out (about 2 years ago perhaps) and it's fine.
All the fuel has to meet industry standards and lets face it Tescos don't refine the fuel they just buy it Greenergy International Ltd
this is their supplier.

I recently had an interview with the manager of the CAT cracker distillation column at SHELL and we were discussing V-power. I told him i used Tesco 99 because it was cheaper and his reply was "thats fine because it shell fuel anyway". Thats good enough for me and i haven't had any issues with it.

I agree, supermarket fuel is for dotty old women in Micra's. I wouldn't use it in any high performance car.
All to save a couple of pence a litre. If I worried about a few pence, then I'm driving the wrong type of car.
It's not worth the risk, I've seen what other owners pay for engine rebuilds.
Too many people buy this type of car, then try to run them on the cheap.

I was warned about using Tesco fuel a few years ago, was told it wasnt as good a quality as others, and that was coming from a Tesco Petrol station employee, but then again that doesnt mean they know any better, just means they have a **** job

I use V power running 330bhp on a WRX 2003.
BP fuel for some reason ran crap on my car, but Tesco and V power were fine, Tho i only use V power now anyway, as its closer then a Tesco,
