Some guy got out of his fiesta st 150 and shouted abuse at me through my window. He was a right *****, but to be fair, I did cut him up slightly, but there was no need for road rage!

You would completely blow a focus st into the weeds they are crap my mates got one okay its got some power but it weighs the same as a tank...
An ST weighs not much more than a classic Scoob.............

I honestly thought a Focus ST had about 240BHP and a T5 engine
Ford Focus ST Review
According to this, Ford Duratec engine, 222BHP, 6.8 to 60.
I reckon a WRX would easily beat it off the mark, but from a rolling start it would probably be more down to driver ability than anything else

I think a newage WRX and the Focus ST would be pretty even, WRX will have it off the mark but rolling start I think it would be pretty even to be honest.
Someone at my local dealers traded a Focus ST in for a WRX, saw it the other day.
I believe they are evenly matched although WRX got a better 0-60, 1 second quicker i think.

My sons g'friend has a Fiesta ST It's a really nice car but you must remember it's only got a bog ordinary Duratec 2 ltr in it, even so, it goes very well!
The Focus ST has the advantage of good low down torque so possibly would have the legs of a WRX and maybe even an STi in a typical overtaking situation eg 40 - 60 in 4th There are a few Focus ST' around now with 300bhp+ so mind how you go!

I have driven my mates ST all the way to Alton towers from Leeds Don't get me wrong i had some fun but its no scooby, all that power to the front wheels is usless if it can't cope it spins in first, second then settles down toward third so contrary to other peoples comments i am not full of it.
If it were tuned to 300BHP it would be worse my mate went through a set of tyres in 6K.
In the mid range department 50 to 70 and above it would be alot closer but by then you would be some distance away and the handling is great compared to other Front Wheel drive Hot hatches but the driver would not have the confidence to take it to the extreme around the bends (Unless His Brain Was Missing!!) ..

the fiesta st looks nice, but a m8 has got the focus st and wants to put it against my scooby, i dont think i want to waste my fuel.
Are the st as quick or quicker than the megane 225 as i had a play with one the other day and he didnt stand a chance.

I was at a rolling road when a Seat Ibiza turned up, bright yellow, driver claiming it had 350BHP.
To my surprise, it did!!
Thing is, the only way they could get a decent reading out of the rolling road was to sit 6 or 7 people on the front of the car... otherwise it just spun like a b1tch!
No point having all that power unless you can plant it to the floor. Look at the big mercs pushing silly amounts of torque, the traction control just sits there laughing...

The ST220 focus is a nice looking car but to be honest with a price tag of £19,000 and and a 0-100 time of nearly 17 seconds i don't see the big attraction. Once again the combination of turbocharged and front wheel drive just don't go together well. To top all this according to Autocars hot hatch showdown its not that impressive on the track either. I know if i had £19,000 to spend i wouldn't be buying a ford. However if you own one and your happy with it then thats all that counts

My focus ST is just over 240bhp and its not the quickest off the mark! but once rolling it IS fast esp past 60mph...the only reason the 0-60 is abit poo is cos they have a boost limiter in 1st and 2nd once into 3rd it just takes off upto 155mph(152mph gps reading).
If you look in some of the mags one of them I think evo mag give the in-gear times and the focus ST is the quickest hot hatch bar the megane r26.
All Ill say is the Wrx 2.5 wagon that was behind me a few weeks ago didn't stand a chance past 130mph.
