Default First Type R

Sep.96-Aug.97
MY97
Facelift model
Was the first 2-door Type R I think. There were Type RA's before this but they were 4 door models.

As far as I know all Type R's come with Driver Controlled Centre Differentials (DCCD)

I'm sure somone will correct me if I'm mistaken.

Hope this answers your questions

not many people got the talent for using the dccd to its full potential and its expensive to repair/replace so but a good sti instead....unless you are going to do rally cross, its a toy !

Only the sti variant of the type r..(retna) came with the dccd..

The wrx type r retained the abs system, and had no dccd.

I heard that with the DCCD set fully open the split between front and rear is about 30/70%
Would this help against torque loss in the transmission system? ie help you get more power to the wheels.
