I ask this question on here about once every year, and it seems as if there are no owners left- at least on this board, kind of sad.

Anyone own one? I just sold mine due to buiness needing funds. But still found the car totally current in its handling- very comparable to the Impreza on road. Thoughts?

My brother has two 20 valvers.

One is a H plate in red, not sure how many miles it has on it. He uses it for everyday use.

The other is J plate, in blue (not very nice) with just 8000 miles on it.

Ian,

How does your brother rate the Quattro's compared to the Impreza?

Thanks, JL

Strange thing is, my brother never really drove my Impreza and I only have driven his red quattro once.

When he has been a passenger in my Impreza, he noticed the initial acceleration was a lot more dramatic. The one time that he drove the Impreza, he felt it was not quite as stable as his quattro at higher speeds.

When I drove his quattro I didn't really push it at all as I didn't want to stack it, so can't make any comment.

I also have had an Evo VI and when my brother drove that he was astounded by it.

My early quattro was fantastic. Was only a 10v none-torsen diff model.

The handling wasn't as good as the Impreza, but it probably weighed twice as much and I'm sure that the suspension was tired !

Performance wise.... Tough one....
The UR-q has lag like I cannot describe. The KKK-27 turbo was massive. Nothing below 3000 revs, then all hell let loose and it really did pull VERY hard with a wonderful 5 cylinder warble which sounds as good as the Impreza IMHO.

Road presence was fantastic. It was a huge, wide beast with massive flaired arches. Loved it... Its sadly missed

Not ergonomically (spelling ?) inside it was a disaster, with a horrendous green LCD dash... Straight from the 80's !
Tweed seats in brown....
Plastic EVERYWHERE...

Nevertheless it was very comfortable and somewhat reverse Tardis like. Huge on the outside, really small on the inside !

Cheers

Mark

Quite like the idea of owning a Sport, the 40-50K price tag puts me off a bit tho! maybe I should talk to these guys!
