He wants to drive my car
Since buying the WRX my boyfriend is continually complaining that I will not let him use it, its now got to the point that im having to hide the keys and arguments brake out because he cant use it. He states that under a Quinn Direct Insurance policy the insured is insured to drive any vehicle fully comp does anyone know if this is correct ? My understanding as with my policy is if your fully comp you can drive another vehicle 3rd party, help appreciated.

On my policies it says in emergencies only, I would not say that the other vehicles clause covers ragging a Scoob round on a regular basis, especially if his car is a Polo or something.

Tell him to get screwed - if he wants to drive an impreza he can buy his own.
Anyhow - the relationship with you car is far more important than any relationship with a mere human. If he keeps pushing it. Ditch him

I had a Quinn Direct policy, he definitely won't be covered fully comp!
Although their third party rule was pretty good. I was under 25 but because of my profession i could drive any car third party.
I don't think it's worth risking it with your scoob though is it? Even a minor scrape would have to be paid for by you or your boyfriend

Good point it would be me who would have to pay for the damage, he reversed my last Subaru into my neighbours car when he was backing off the drive thanks the WRX keys are hidden

......errrrr why can't you just get him to show you the bit on his policy which he reckons says he's covered fully comp to drive whatever he likes?
I think it'll be 3rd party only.

My thoughts exactly, as soon as the Saxo was mentioned.
What's the betting the boot, has 2 12" subs, and last but not least, funky neons.
Tell him if he want's to drive the king of Jap machinery, he should get a job, and stop sponging from his good lady.

No need to say anything to him now, I checked his policy and he was only insured 3rd party on other vehicles, that started a massive argument so he was told to sling his hook with his saxo thing, at least the Subaru is still in one piece , thanks all, problem gone.

BTW, unless you specifically ask for it, and pay accordingly NO insurance policy will cover you fully comp for driving another vehicle
If he has specifically asked for it, it will be stated as an additional clause, on both the certificate and the policy schedule
Information worth bearing in mind for future, most insurance companies are now removing the 'other vehicles third party' clause from their policies too
