Default Subaru Proven Warranty, Worth Extending?

The Subaru proven warranty on my Scoob runs out end of April this year, is it worth renewing it?

Any idea how much it costs?

I am planning on keeping the car for another 18 months at least

I have had two Impreza's and both had extended warranties. The only claim i made was for the ususal rear shock replacment on my soon to be ex blob STI. If i had have kept the car i probably wouldn't have renewed as a think it costs around 6-7 hundred pounds
End of the day its for you to take the gamble. You could always out the 700 quid aside just in case.

Have you got a good feeling for the car? If you have had it a long time, hopefully you have an idea if something 'isn't quite right' or not. If it feels good then it may be a good gamble not extending.

It used to be worth extending, seem to remember it being around £600 for two years. But then they put it up to something stupid like £700 a year. As mentioned better off just putting the money aside in case of a problem.

Depends on how good your dealer is, my dealer can't fix any niggles that I have under standard warranty, there's no way I would pay the tw@ts extra to still not fix them.

Get a Price now and you can extend it April will be far to late and dearer, also don't believe the prices quoted by salesmen ring Proven yourself it will save a load of tears

for £600 for 2 years I'd take it,

BTW STi, WRX & millage, up to date Servicing etc. will all effect the Price

IIRC IMHO

The only thing that worries me about the extended warranty is for a 4-5 year old car how many things could go wrong that the dealer could just say its wear and tear and not covered. Like others have said keep the money aside just incase.

thats a good point, of 3 items under warrantee the dealer told me only 1 was covered, which l felt for a £27k car was poor, its put me off spending that sort of money again on a scoob, still love it to bits,

I was considering extending mine but when subaru sent me the invitation to extend it they wanted £1300 for one year for a car that was 4 and a bit years old I decided to risk not having it!
