Hi Folks,

I seen some pics of STI's with the Front Splitter and think they look the dog's.

Just wanted to ask how you peeps who have them fitted find them with speed humps and raised drives etc. Do you find it touches or scrapes?

Only reason I ask is because I'm thinking of getting one for MY05 STI (not been lowered) and the scraping it on speed humps and when entering/exiting the works car park is putting me off.

With the ride height of the standard being quite high i think you will be ok over most speed humps and car parks.

My MY03 STI with front splitter and AST stage 3 is ok around birmingham

Got one fitted to my MY03 STi, the standard one you buy from the stealers. And Also have the prodrive spring kit fitted, which lowers the car by 25MM. I do find it a slight problem reversing out of the driveway, get the odd scraping from underneath if not careful. At the moment I havn't had issues with speed humps, although these were only small ones. I suppose you would be better off without the lowered spring kit.
Noticed at work that someone had one fitted to their 05 STi and seemed to manage getting on and off grass verges without a problem.

Mine scraped a few times and was a genuine lip from Japan. Ended up picking a carbon one up for a bargain £60.00 and sold the damaged one.

Current one still scrapes very occasionally (not over speed bumps mind) but is very very hard wearing.

Have a Scott Lowe GRP one on my STI and to be honest am not impressed with it the material seems very thin in places and have got small holes all over it.If I was going to get another it would either be the dealer one or a carbon fibre one.

Have a look in the GB section as they are very cheap...

caught mine on ferry going to europe and dealer finished it off reversing onto ramp! my wife still laughs in car parks at the speed i used to drive at to avoid the scraping noise!nice looking but not practical

Agree about the scott lowe splitter, very thin in places and the gel coat isn't of the best quality.

Doesn't matter now as I stuffed it into a kerb and its almost in three pieces now.

Not had any problems with speed bumps (on eibach springs too) but parking in a car park, straight on against a kerb is where I busted mine.

how are the splitters attached. splittered up my cupra with screws. are these the same or are they bonded on? this is one of my planned mods

I didn't think they lowered the car by enough to cause damage!
I'll have to re-think my plans then, I was after (eventually) a front splitter like the SN Spec C and also some Prodrive springs, I suppose i'll need to just get one or the other now

With the Scott Lowe splitter you get a fitting kit of various bolts/rubber mounts and concise instructions for fitting. I believe the revolution kit comes with similar as I assume would the dealer part. From memory, all mounting points were there. I didn't have to drill anything although I did leave 2 bolts out but can't remember why



For general driving you won't have a problem with this type of splitter. The SN car looks to have a larger item that appears to sit even lower and with lowered springs as well you'll have to be very careful. Also if you have one colour coded then you have no room for error as even small scratches are gonna show. Thats why I went for a glossy black, so I could use a felt pen on the white bits like I did with my old escort cossie hockey sticks
