do imports need mapping for uk fuel?
as above, if i were to buy a jap import from 1994-99 (cos im not having much luck with the uk's i been looking at) does anything need doing with the ecu so that it runs ok on our cheaper uk fuel?
i seem to here of new engines etc being fitted to wrx's and not so much to the uk models, and some say this is because "jap cars are bad and cant run on our petrol"!.......are they right or wrong?????

fuel in japan is of a much higher octane than uk fuel as standard...over 100ron me thinks...therefor atleast while its not remapped use the highest octane available (tesco 99, v-power etc) preferably with some octane booster
if you carry on using crap grade fuel, u cause what is known as engine detonation/pinking/knock and that will screw your engine up
best bet...re-map
good-luck
