Looked at this at weeked, 1999 Wagon
Guys, I need you thoughts on this -
I have 3k to spend on the right car, I want as later one as possible of the classic impreza shape and wagon (turbo) - 1997/1998 onwards would be lovely am I asking to much? I looked at this at the weekend, 119k, scratch down the side, pressure dents in the door, rusty hinge bits on the top rear spoiler, screaching power steering belt, lovely sounding engine though and drove really nice, No service history just a email print out of were it was serviced, needs 4 new tyres and has a strange wear pattern on the offside rear?, I could get it for £2800 I'm pretty sure, but would rather hold out for something that doesnt need things doing to it - and I am after a standard car, ie: no inducation kit and dump valve or custom exhaust, (this one had all of these) nice colour though -
thanks in advance guys!

thanks for confirming my thoughts mate, I really love the later ones, a 1998/99 would be great with the nice seats and the white dials/twin airbags etc just wanted to ask if i'm expecting too much for too little money, £3000 is my absolute limit, £3100 next month, £3200 the next and so on - the mica blue ones seem to go for silly money, thanks again mate -

No history, 119K and needs work doing - not looked after properly.
Plus, its got a tow hook. Whats it been towing?
Would never buy a car with a tow hook fitted IMO.
99-00 are the final versions - 98s are different again.
£3K will buy you one but it won't be that great and probably cost you more money again.
They are cheap to buy but if you buy a wong'un they are very expensive to put right.

Holding back for a couple of months to increase the amount you have is maybe not such a bad idea. You can always keep a hunt out for the perfect one.
Because the last thing you want is for a gearbox/engine to go, or anything else serious.

I would let mine go for £2600.
Details below......................... Ayrshirescoobies.com :: My MY95 Turbo Wagon.
Just turned 83K this week, FSH 11 Stamps in book. Now got a couple of rust spots coming through, but a genuine, well maintained, unmolested Impreza.
Rob.
