It happened to my Legacy wheels too, just be polite, but firm at the dealers and they should change them for you.

Same happened to my MY03 STi. Got them replaced without quibble at the dealers. They did take photos first and sent them off to IM. Then got the car in for 4 new alloys.

Seems to be common with jap cars. I had 2 sets of alloys replaced on my RX8 in 2 years, a friend of mine had 4 sets replaced on his celica.

Might be a silly question but have you had new tyres fitted?

We've seen a few wheels that are corroded around the centre cap and the corrosion starts from damage caused by the wheel being caught on the shaft of the balancing machine.

insufficient coating on the wheels allowing moisture to get under the paint.

Nope, still the originals from new, havn't had them off yet as cars only done 4k miles from new, caught up with a guy who has similar mileage on his and his ones are away the same way

One thing springs to mind though that we both got our cars from the same dealer only 2 months apart, so bit strange that both have corroded in exactly the same way.
