Default Classic uk sti?

Is this an sti

eBay.co.uk: Fab bargain U.K supplied WRX genuine STi type Impreza (item 250085086467 end time 25-Feb-07 22:26:23 GMT)

I had thought the classic sti was import only, but I assume the RB5 is an sti, so I must have been wrong. If this is an sti, it doesn't look any different to my uk turbo. It's got a pink grill badge (which I suppose he's just stuck on) but that's from an import isn't it?

Educate me, please

It's not an STI, it's a UK Turbo 2000, like you said Classic STI's were only available as a Jap import.
RB5 is not an STI either, same engine as a uk turbo, although was available as a WR Sport version which had all the prodrive bits and a different ECU map giving slightly more power.

Hmmmmmm don't reckon its an sti !!

No air con, no rear wash wipe, sti's had red stitching on the steering wheel/gear **** and how did he get 340bhp - from a s/s exhaust and d/v bloody hell

Totally unmolested? even if it was an sti they r 280bhp where did the other 60 bhp come from??

It looks like a normal uk spec turbo to me!!

Actually it looks a lot like mine..and yours miff13 ......may be we've got sti's hooray ive always wanted one!! Not gonna bother buying a 911 now either!!

Cheers Davy b

Yep thought so, think I'll stick an sti badge on the back and a pink one on the grill and thrill at the extra 100bhp it gives me

I was doubting myself on the sti being import only mind, so glad I asked.

Cheers

RB5 has a Jap shell if that helps I think, i.e. solid bulkhead and possibly other bits. Otherwise, no.

Advertisers stick the extra letters on to widen the search option. Although it contains the letters WRX and STI he/she does state it is a UK supplied car. The power claim seems ambitious and we do not get much of a spec list aside from a stage three clutch and full exhaust. However he/she is willing to answer all questions so just ask
