Question

Guys I need help desperately - Recently got a my95 wrx sti - been fine for about 6 weeks then today driving into work noticed some steam coming from engine bay.

Mangaged to get parked and popped the bonnet to find that i have some sort of leak on the left hand side of the engine - cant see if its a hose or not looks as if its either leaking screen wash or antifreeze - (green tinge to liquid)

Now im stuck - dont want to move the car in case i do some damage - still sounds like its running sweet, anyone know of a mechanic / Scooby Garage in London (Canary Wharf) which would look at a sti?? if not i guess ill have to call greenflag

Thanks

Try feeling underneath the header tank for a leak there - my 94 had a crack in the casing it was really hard to spot and didn't lak that much but it was steam/smoke from the (looking at the car) left side of the engine bay..........

Hope this helps.....

Question

Does the steam smell sickly? Does it have a slight smokey appearance? That would suggest a leak in the coolant system somewhere.......

Mmm - Definately smells of something - pretty sure its antifreeze thats leaking, Engine temp seemed to be normal - not higher or lower - ill have to have another look and check casing / pipes.
Thanks

Mmmmmm "Have a good feel around" - Definately sounds a very good idea!
The amount of smoke / steam would suggest that its loosing quite a bit of fluid, any ideas where i can get the car looked at??
Thanks

If you can get the car over to Basildon then get Pete Croney at Scoobysport to look at it. They service and repair all types of Imprezas (UK, Euro and Jap)

Check out www.scoobysport.co.uk
