Default DCCD judder

hi all,

just a quick question to make sure everything is ok...car is a v5 type r...with the diff on full lock (orange light on, switch all the way at the top towards bonnet) the car judders on slow corners and on full lock doing a 360degrees turn it causes very little tyre slip (wheel spin)

driving with this diff setting is ok isnt it???

thanx

Default NO don't do it.

In a word NO. Never drive with it fully locked.

For manouvering in car parks etc I always wind mine fully to the rear otherwise the tyres hop and skip and the diff clunks.

Fully locked is for snow mud etc. You can drive with it wound forward 2/3 - 3/4 IMHO and all should be well - but not for reversing/manouvering.

Wind it back now!

I'm sure that someone else will tell you something simillar.

The above is correct.

Think you damage the diff if you drive with it locked when traction is good.

Only move when wet. Even then the fully locked option should only be used for snow or mud.

Always drive with mine fully open - bottom green light. I only start moving it forward if grip is reduced on the road, e.g heavy rain, snow, ice. Only ever fully locked at speeds past 20mph. Except snow.

Any..............

For me, I use whatever I'll be using next, so, usually 1/3 forward. Sometimes I may go full lock (against what I said earlier) then wind it off once I'm moving!

Just remember to take it off full lock before the corner!
