I would say you could quite easily get a good type r for that. Depends what version you want. Not sure if they did a V3, but there are definitely V4 and V5 for that sort of money or less. A really nice V6 may even be possible if you take your time.

there is a stunning type r ver 5 or 6 on pistonheads for 9k in gunmetal grey,top example to.

Yes, for sure. Take your time a pick a good one. I bought my low milage V4 Type R 3 years ago for £14k and the prices have gone through the floor. I'd say a V5 or even a V6 should be possible. Good luck and take your time.
