As a scooby newbie I thought I would be welcomed with open arms or is it that the topic of insurance bores people or makes them wince which is why I haven't had a reply??????
On another note how many members are there that live local to me (Worcester) that meet regularly or do track days???Hopefully I get an answer to this one or then again probably ignored again.............

You are welcomed to the bulletin board....it's just that the insurance topic has been covered many times before and folks probably get bored of replying again and again....do a search for relevant info you need.

Welcome aboard

Oh come on Richard, you waited less than an hour at the time of day when lots of folk are on their way home from work sitting down having their tea or in the pub having a swift one.

You can see if you monitor the board that most people post from work or later in the evening give 'em a chance !

Try the search facility and the insurance forum while you wait there's a load of insurance stuff already out there.

I know diddly squat about it but all I can say is shop around particularly with some of the phone numbers posted in the insurance section.

Hi Moody!
There is a seperate forum for insurance queries...it's called 'INSURANCE'!
Seriously though we welcome any newbies to the board, we were all newbies once after all. It is often the case that newbies come to the board and ask the same questions over and over. That is why the board has a search facility and different forums. You are more likely to get your question answered if it is in the right place.
Don't be offended by it.
I actually think there should be a short guide for newcomers, explainig how the board can be used to it's full potential, especially the search facility (Webbie...are you listening? ).
Regarding track dayers, there are probably hundreds near you. Did you want to know anything specific?

Stef.

Welcome to the community

Where do you work in Oxford - it sounds like its stressful. Don't worry that will be fixed when you pick the Scoob up - you'll be smiling from ear to ear

see you you around,

Richard

Cool

Welcome to the board Richard!

'Fraid I can't help you with your insurance question or track days in your area.

Just thought I'd say hello.

Rich

P.S.
Do use the search facility, but keep the questions coming as well.

Just because a question has been asked before, doesn't mean the subject is exhausted.

If you want to see how not to ask questions, though, do a search under user name "P1 WR".

P.P.S.
Webbie, I reckon Stef's comment about a beginners guide is a good 'un. Can it be done?

Welcome aboard M8ty

If there's an insurance query...most (well a few) find my comments of assistance...and in some cases cost effective.

Please feel free to mail or call me...If I'm not available, please bear with me, I will always try and get back to you.

Also if I can't help and will hopefully be able to point you in the right direction.

Join the SIDC...well worth it...True Grip (the guarterly mag) is excellent + all the track days etc etc....keep an "i" on Scoobynet for meets and trackdays also....many run throughout the year in different areas of the country...and most of all enjoy the car...

Keep grinning !!!

Richard,
Welcome aboard! Even more so as you are (or will be shortly) a Wagon owner.

Insurance? well, a search or a look in the UK spec insurance forum would be a good idea.

Would, as others have mentioned, join SIDC right now!

Like most of my affable chums have already said, the insurance thing is hammered to death on a regular basis. Do a search for postings by RUM*, he's a partner in Insurance Broking and his reputation shineth, from those who have dealt with him.

You are what I consider in the Midlands (like it or not!). You want to check out the regional events forum "Midlands" and/or look for postings by WALKER, Kev, Boomer, Salsa-King, to name but a few, who all "party" down there.

On Dec 10th there is a N.Wales do starting at Oswestry. Well, they can't all be on your doorstep and I know some of the Midlands crew mentioned above are going, so use it as an excuse to drive. Your missus/girlfriend/kids can go to if you want, no one objects!

Good luck.

Anything you need to know about your wagon, chat with Puff. He'll make your wagon a dragon.

Banshi,

I am hardly likely to advertise my whereabouts on this BBS to someone in "Lancashire" who hasn't even posted their e-mail address or any other details, now am I?

Presumably for the same reasons.

You can't have seen mine, it still has the revolving plates on. Oops!

E-mail me offline so's I know whereabouts in Lancs you are.

OOps
Large feet onto small toes really should complete the profile.

Just a moments cerebral failure.
Wasn't really expecting a postcode sort of;
often in the vicinity of B&Q but don't play for Oldham FC.

What, you're in "bottom end"?

Vicinity of Pennines and can value certain parts of a horse's tack.

Rich,

I'm a 97 WRX wagon owner too. How much did you pay for it?
If it was less than 14 grand, please just DON'T answer...!!!

Assuming you are beside my small rabbits home I work nearby:-

I was never any good with crosswords, but:-

A television family on the road to Rochdale may find some out of date pork is just what the Doctor ordered.

Richard, sorry for diverting your thread, I will now revert to conversing with my pal Dave and the other muppets. Enjoy owning, enjoy driving and go to see these loons in action at a track day!
