HELP WITH IDLE AIR CONTOL SOLENOID!!
2 weeks ago i bought a new maf for my96 wrx. 2 days and after putting it in and reseting the ecu the cel came on again ( was idleing at 2000 revs and going up and down) and it was throwing out error code 24!!! so i got an air idle control solenoid from grade-a. fited it and the engine shot up to 2000 rpm after starting it
but went down to 1000 straight away. SO I did a ecu
reset and then connected the 2 black connectors again and i got error code 24 AGAIN??? i dont understand. i would appreciate some help one this.

So why don't you write down how you fixed your problem then? Then someone in the future who may have the same problem as you will do a search and find one possible way to fix it.
I have done this a number of times. Sometimes I post a problem and get help. Other times no-one knows the answer or my question slips off the end of the page and no-one looks at it. Then I usually end up fixing it myself and posting how I did it. But I never ended up swearing in giant capital letters LOL

No problem! Keep the questions coming. As I said, I've been in the same position as you and been tearing my hair out. I only just fixed an idle problem that I'd had for months and in the end I'd literally tried everything apart from replace the valve. So I replaced the valve with one I got from a scrappies for £25 and that sorted it. And I'm always skint - otherwise I'd buy new parts from Subaru and have my local garage fix things for me instead of doing it myself!
