Anyone in Edinburgh over the next few days!?
#1
Hi all,
Myself and the fully prepared "works" Astra are in Edinburgh from tomorrow until Thursday evening. Is anyone around and fancy showing me the sites, taking me for a blast in their motors or failing that, can someone recommend some decent restaurants and bars!?
Any help welcomed and apologies if this is slightly off forum.
Cheers,
Jon.

Sorry I won't be about, but for places to try -
Bars - obviously depends on what you want, but these are good:
"Indigo yard" at the West End - trendy spirits bar.
"Three Sisters" in the Cowgate - three bars in one - popular with students etc and usually busy, less so Mid-week.
"Standing Order" in George Street - large city centre pub, good beer. Best enjoyed in a crowd.
Anywhere in the grassmarket, and top end of Royal Mile for traditional Edinburgh ye-olde type pubs.
Food:
Again, depends on what you want.
Indian -
"The Indian Cavalry Club" on Atholl Place. Not tried it personally, but highly recommended amongst friends.
Italian -
"Ciao Roma" on South Bridge. Reasonable all round Italian nosh.
Chinese -
"The Jasmine" on Grindlay Street.
Scottish -
"Stac Polly" Grindlay Street or Dublin Street. Excellent Scottish fare, though a bit pricey. You will need to book.
Enjoy
Rich

Yeah i'll be in Edinburgh alot but am busy i'm afraid...
Bar wise - I recommend the following:
Three sisters is fantastic!
Another favourite of mine is the Sports cafe at the bottom of the Grass market - owned by the Scottish rugby players and we go there alot. 2nd floor is the best
- it all depends on your age and what you are interested in and what sort of people you want to be around.
Don't know if your interested in clubs and that kind of thing, but Eros & Elite is possibly my favourite in Edinburgh.. quite good and you don't find too many underage youngsters.
Restaurants , well depends but like RichS said.. look above

The Standing Order mentioned above also does very cheap drink. 2 double vodka's and Red Bull plus a double Bailey's £5.90 On a Saturday night too.
Also try Est Est Est or Brownes (next to each other) on George Street for food.
For a decent club try Espionage in Cowgate (I think)
We never made it to the Fantasy Bar or Plush ***** last weekend but if we go next time we're in Edinburgh I'll be sure to pass on a review!!!

Malmaison indeed! Very nice
If you're not heading for the city centre tonight, there's some good restuarants, bistros and bars in Leith. Worth checking them out.
Can't remember any names, but they're just over the river from you - ask at the desk, I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction.
