Default Rebuilt Engine?

Hey folks

Well i sold my old scooby and after a very brief time with my new 200sx im selling it and comming back to Subaru!

Im looking at an my 96 sti with a rebuilt engine, and im wondering what to look out for when going to look at it, what questions should i ask.

Are Scoobys with rebuilt engines worth buying?

Any help is appreciated!

1. Why did it need a new engine?

2. When was it rebuilt - was it a week ago .... or 2 years ago, say?

3. Who rebuilt it?

I am always amazed at these threads ...... Imprezas are 10 a penny ....... no need to accept anything less than perfect ...

Plenty cracking Imprezas out there, the only problem is getting them off their owners

If I was buying another Impreza, specifically an STI, I would only consider cars that have had rebuilds by reputable tuners. It seems with the classic STI's that it's a case of "when" rather than "if" in relation to knackered bottom ends.
