I think, the T1-S had about 7mm tread on a brand new tyre.

T1-R's are the newer and better tyre, call it mark II if you like.

My T1-S not long came off the car having done 11k miles mostly normal driving too. They had 2.2 mm on them when i had them off, so maybe would have managed 15k at a push but down to the legal lmit.
Like i say it really was mostly normal driving, thats why i was so peeved at how quick they wore out.
I am back with T1-R now, these were measured at 8.5 mm tread depth as fitted to car brand new, so the T1-S must be similar.
I would guess you have around 6k miles of motoring left on them if you are not a mad hatter around corners all the time
But then you would be boring like me! LOL.

Following the various discussions and threads posted on here about tyres, I decided to go with the Goodyear Eagles (originally was going to try the Proxes).

Have to say that I am well impressed, the Goodyears hold the road much better than the standard Potenza's in both the dry and the wet (actually the Potenza's were lethal in the wet, wonder if anyone else found that...).

Basically unless something else comes along that people generally feel is better I will stick with the Goodyears now.......so many people on SN can't be wrong........

cheers guys. Just been offered some wheels with T1S with 6mm tread, just wondered roughly how much had gone off the tyres and how much left. I know they're quite soft compound.

i had T1-s's and was very underwelmed by them. Grip levels weren't great, the tyre wall is too soft and they wore down too quickly. Got Eagle F1's now and they are leagues better

Most car and light van tyres have 8mm tread
Taken from the tyre website.
