I bought my scoob at 22 in March/April 2003, it's an MY00 uk Turbo and paid £14k for it.
Could nearly buy a brand new EU import for that money these days .

The older (better) ones still have, in comparison to other cars! We looked at a Volvo while our scoob was missing; a V40 SE which was the same price as the scoob when it came out, and was a year younger. Price? Three grand. Scoob price? £6,500.

MY93 WRX - personal import.
Picked up the keys in Jan 2000, and paid around £9,000 in total (original cost of car + shipping + import duty + VAT + 4 new tyres + registration + UK agent commission!!)
Seemed like a bargain at the time as you couldn't get any turbo for less than around £13,000 That summer, Subaru raised their import quota, and prices have fallen ever since.....
7 years later, and it's probably worth pennies, but I've had over 100,000 miles out of it, and it still goes!

Meercat decat 3 inch snakehead system
GT spec 2 headers and up pipe
Samco / Perrin intake hoses
APS inner wing induction kit
(little porky pie) as I had the wastegate ported to stop the boost creep the VF35's are famous for so its not exactly standard
10% Methanol in with the V Power
Bosch 255ltr per hour fuel pump
origional plugs (think I should change them as ive done 22K on them...lol)
Andy Forrest ECUTEC map running 1.55 Bar of boost
in 5th and 6th gears getting full boost by 2800rpm

I bought my '94 Legacy Turbo in February '99 when it was 48k miles old. I paid £6100 for it.
It's now 99k miles old, still mine, and still going strong
Although it's wheels, brakes, suspension, gearbox and diff are all considerably newer

bought my first (of three) scoobs back in november 2005, when i had been learning to drive a few months. was indeed another 4 months before i passed my test so you can imagine the incentive sat there waiting for me to pass first time, which i did. was 'only' a sport, but not bad for a first car. cost me £2600 for a my98 white sport with 89,000 miles from a garage too, not private, which then was quite a good price.
was only 21 at the time, so imaging the first thing i did after passing my morning test after coming off nights??? didnt sleep for 48 hours straight, was too excited about driving everywhere...

Guy was desperate to sell due to splitting up with his missus and had paid £13.8k to a dealer for the car in April.
