ok, not sure which forum this should be in, so moderators feel free to move it.

I ususally click the 'email notification' button to all the threads I post so I can see when people respond, plus i also subscribe to other interesting threads using the 'email - subscribe to thread' link at the top of the thread.

Question is, how do i unsubscribe from these threads?

I found out the hard way that you can't turn it off. I clicked on email notification to a post in the "One post per person per day - the muppet story". I must have had hundreds of emails. Serves me right for being such a muppet in the first place.

that;s my fear, if I accidentally click the option in the muppet forum then my mail server is gonna die

 

Markus, I added myself to my VIP list (sad, I know) which is a good way to see what threads you have replied to and if they moved or not.

 

EB, I've done the same as you, so that makes two of us that are sad might have to get into the habbit of doing this

 

aha! the favourites thing is probably the best bet, as you can remove those, ok, so it does not email you, but it could I guess.

 

If you subscribe to a monster muppet thread and are being bombarded with e-mail notifications, you can set up a "message rule" in outlook express to delete any e-mail from your ISP's server, from a specific source such as scoobynet, prior to the mail ever reaching your PC.

It's a useful tool and you could do this temporarily until the thread dies.

In outlook express, go to tools and click on message rules, mail.
Work it out from there...
