Haha - I once went to a garage to see if I could test drive an sti ppp, and they clearly didnt beleive I was actually going to buy one, so they just near enough laughed at me and said no. So they lost out on £13k.

So I went private and bought a JDM Sti instead. Best move I ever made.

I test drove a CTR @ 17 from Miles and Smiles in mansfield when I had my MG ZR 160, but he didnt know I was 17 at the time, but presumed because I had turned up in my zr 160, I was serious about the CTR.

I wasnt - I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about really.

as long as you go suitably dressed and maybe in another car that is worth a bit you might get taken seriously ,

you could go along and ask , see if it would be better if you got your own insurance for the test drive .

if you can convince them your interested and the car is insured then it shouldnt matter what age you are .

but dont turn up with all your mates in his corsa expecting to be taken seriously .

Granted wasnt as young as you lot, was 22 i think went to test drive a lotus, he obviuosly thought i was a test pilot. and refused to test drive untill i placed an order

went and bought one the next day somewhere else, then took great pleasure in driving straight past the garage that refused a drive. And waving at the salesman

Sometime last year my dad was talking to one a supplier to his company and somehow got onto the matter of Subarus anyhow, as this guy new my dad had a 03WRX and I think he new I have a Sport, he said that ne had just p/x his classic Turbo for a 04 Sti with PPP which he got from Souls in Olney, Bucks and he told the sales manager that we were moving into the area, Turvey and he sent my dad a letter introducing Souls to my dad. So when my dad is ready to walk into the showroom and introduce him to that salesman...you never know, I might beable to blag myself a test drive. watch this space.

Darren

p.s. im 22.

Agreed, but if that doesnt work go to another dealer.... The golden rule however is, if you get turned down & buy elsewhere you've GOT TO go back & show off your new purchase, aka lost sale, to the 1st dealer...

Any of you guys seen the film Pretty Woman, with Julia Roberts and Rochard Gere. Well when Julia gets the oportunity to go shopping, she goes into one store and the staf would not wait on her. Then the next day, richard and Julia go shopping to gether and find a store that will wait on her. After she has done, she goes past that store that would not wait on her with arms fulls of shopping bags and rubs it in.

ame sort of thing that you are saying.
