As above from a stealer. Does this price sound about right? Seems a bit high to me

LOL exactly! Yes but it's not a fun job to do - for £200 labour I'd do it. For £100 I'd have to have a good think about it.

Er, RTFP? 10 mins a side? Forgive me if I'm wrong, it's a while since I did my maths A-Level, but 10+10 still =20 yes?
'most accounts' - so you haven't done it? Glad you're relying on the most accurate of all sites, Scoobynet
Never seen any disinformation on here before.

Subaru4you in Newbury, I can't remember whether it was one side or two, but knowing Len it was probably both.
His labour charges are ridiculously cheap - I think it works out around £35 p/h - Plus he is "Mr Subaru" i.e he knows exactly how to treat them.

If they are doing ALL the rubber gaskets, bolt washers, and half moon inserts (which you don't need to do but hey ho) then £300 is not a bad price. It is a pig of a job to do especially if you want to do it properly as it the head has to be cleaned of oil in order for the silicone sealant (which must be used) to adhere properly.
Available cheaper elsewhere, of course, but very expensive, certainly not.

do the gaskets alone not seal the joints? should any particular sealer be used? also does this make the job harder ive been quoted £50 labour?
