BLACKWALL TUNNEL - BEWARE
Not sure how true this is but I thought it better to share and be wrong than not share and everyone get stung.

I have it on good authority from enquiries made by staff at Motorway
Control
that there are now small undetectable specs cameras (average speed
detection cameras) sited in both the north and south bore of the
Blackwall
tunnel. Apparently they are going live today. The speed limit for the
tunnels are 30mph northbound and 40mph southbound. It would appear that
our
Criminal Justice Unit at Marlowe House have no knowledge of this and
state
it is TFL that have implemented it. Any offences for speeding through
the
tunnel would be raising funds of £100 per offence or £50 if paid
promptly.
They have not installed signs warning drivers of this speed trap and
therfore would not be looking to hit drivers with a licence
endorsement,
just take the money from you.

Dodgy barstewards, thats just not cricket is it?
Iva ad enough of this lot of vultures bleeding us dry....why cant they all just F*ck off and die, they have ruined this island of ours with there stupid laws, lack of control/justice, and taxes.
And thats before all our council tax rises that are on the cards, because of our propertys soaring in value!
Is that our fault? NO
Will we ever see any of that "added value"? NO
So WTF should we have to pay it......they will tax us on money that we dont have, or are ever likely to see!

BUT
It wouldn't surprise me: every single camera on 8 mile approach to that tunnel on the Kent side is hidden behind shrubbery, or a sign, or in an embankment. Can't believe that some of them are legal under the conspicuity rules quite frankly!

I read it as if you are caught, make sure you know where you were caught because they cannot 'do' you in the tunnel (no warnings etc) you will not have to pay if you were caught in blackwall

The cameras fitted in the tunnel are part of the safety system recommended in 2000 by the EU and covered in the attached report. They are CCTV for monitoring traffic flow and definitely not SPECS. There is also a webcam in there but it is not accessible (legitimately) at present.
