Chris is right. Also have a look in the for sale section on here.
People have different perspectives when buying a car.
At the end of the day its your money, not ours. We can only try and guide you in the right direction.

Do you need to go through a dealer or garage?

I do not know your cisrcumstances but

If you need finance then talk to the backs, any deal through a dealership will involve commission to the finance person?
If warranty is an issue then there are schemes that run that you can get your car on. AS lot of them are not worth the paper they are written on anyway.
If PX is an issue then you are likely to get a beter price selling you exisiting car than PX'ing as the trader/dealer will only give you a trade value. Cash wil give you better bargaining power.

Worth checking out private ad's as well.

Lot on here in for sale (funnily enough) and Pistonheads, etc.

If you do not kbow what you are buying then take someone who does or get a professional in from the RAC or such like.

good luck

Type R = 2 door body, 280-300bhp engine, lots of creature comforts, adjustable centre diff, geared for 150mph (70mph in 5th at 3800rpm)
Type RA = lightweight 4 door model. Some come without air-con, lecy windows, sound proofing, central locking. Same engine as type r basically, adjustable centre diff, but geared for 130mph! (70mph in 5th at 4500rpm!)
