DG -- probably not a hose then. I don't know how the boost management is set up on a Leggy but if it uses a solenoid valve like Imprezas to manage airflow to the wastegate actuator, the solenoid could be sticking. Can you swap it for a known good 'un?

The other things are a dodgy dump / recirc valve (don't know which type you've got) -- if it's sticking open you'll be losing most of your boost pressure.

Finally, is the wastegate actuator sticking open? Perhaps the wastgate lever is sticking, or where the actuator arm connects to the lever is corroded & sticky? Try a good squirt of WD40 around the wastegate lever.

Oh, and the other thing is possibly a dodgy sensor somewhere, but I would have thought you'd get a check engine light or similar if this was the case.

Good luck

I'd look at:

- dump valve failure
- wastegate stuck open
- hose failure somewhere

these assume that all the other stuff's OK (fresh spark plugs, headgasket OK, ignition OK etc etc)

Thanks Brickboy

However every now and then it may clear it's self and be ok for another 300 - 400 miles....

Any Ideas???

(only one suggestion so far - even with all that knowledge out there!!)

Check that the HT leads are firmly connected.
